No más Naranja
Fine Art
Jonathen Wilks
A Brief Intro
No más Naranja features a grotesque, demonic figure; his long toupee whips in the wind exposing a gaping, hollow void in place of his brain. Behind him, a chain-link fence with razor wire cuts across the canvas while warplanes drop bombs overhead.
I have always thought image transfer was a messy, ugly medium. Instead of fighting against the medium, I leaned into it, turning it into an aesthetic choice to capture how I felt about the depicted figure. Additional materials include ink, watercolor, and graphite, adding to the chaos depicted.
